When my husband, Len Rowell, was young, his mother insisted that all the children (four girls and Len) share equally in chores, no matter whether they were “traditionally jobs for boys or girls”. They were a family. Our churches are families. There are tasks to do and it is time to think about these responsibilities as we prepare for our church conference on November 16 and into 2009. Here are some of these “chores”, small or large, but important: Serving a Sunday morning in the nursery Making soup/taking it out to folks who need a warm connection to the church Mailing out children’s activity sheets to those who miss a Sunday or helping to prepare the newsletter Sitting at the “welcome table” in the Fellowship Hall to greet folks Being a greeter, a liturgist, a fellowship host on a Sunday morning Joining in and helping with a mission project: flood buckets, food shelf, health kits Being part of a ministry in education, outreach, finance, worship, communication Singing in the choir, teaching church school, working with youth
Here are the names of people working on our lay leadership team: Pastor Jill Robinson, Betty Wilder, Joyce Sargent, Ann Rowell, Clay Wagner.
